Property Tax Updates

With the passage of SB24-233 and HB24B-1001, a new property tax revenue limit is now law and effective for the 2026 local government budget year. The Division has prepared a technical assistance resource for the 5.25% Property Tax Revenue Limit (also known as the 10.5% Property Tax Revenue Limit). This courtesy resource is provided for informational and technical assistance purposes only and should not be considered definitive or legal advice.

Understanding the budget and compliance process, obtaining data for financial analysis, and knowing how to navigate complex property tax laws are necessary for local governments to thrive. Our staff provides assistance and resources for a variety of budgeting and finance needs.

Please visit the Division's Local Government Information System to view annual budgets and other documents filed by local governments.
