Community Development Block Grant - Covid (CDBG-CV)

In response to Covid-19 congress appropriated additional funds, via the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in the amount of $5 billion to be allocated in three rounds of funding. Colorado’s total share of all funding is $26,374,426. These funds must be used for HUD Community Development Block Grant eligible activities and meet the HUD national objective of benefit to low and moderate income persons.

Community Development Block Grant - Covid (CDBG-CV) funding was made available for Public Facilities and Improvement (CDBG-CVF) projects and Public Service Projects (CDBG-CVS) directly related to the prevention, preparation and response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Funding Opportunities

Public Facility and Improvements
Examples of Public Facility and Improvements in relation to the Covid-19 outbreak include rehabilitation of health facilities to address needs directly related to the prevention, preparation and response to Covid-19.

Amount Available: $1,500,000

Public Service
Examples of Public Service activities in relation to the Covid-19 outbreak include the following:

  • Provide testing, diagnosis or other services at a mobile location.
  • Purchase and installation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for health care clinics.
  • Provide equipment, supplies, and materials necessary to carry out testing/vaccination for Covid-19.
  • Fund community food banks to assist with increased demand from persons and families affected economically by Covid-19.

Amount Available: $5,000,000

Eligibility

Non-profit entities, including health clinics, non-profit hospital districts and food banks are eligible.
