On November 13, 2024, the Division of Local Government (DLG) has rolled out a new e-filing portal to be used by all local government entities, requiring some current users to create new login credentials. While the look and feel of the portal will be different, the scope, purpose, and user base of this system will remain the same.

The new system will allow local government officials to have a single account login across DLG portals, including the Grants portal, the Formulaic programs (Conservation Trust Fund, Firefighter Cardiac Benefit, Volunteer Firefighter Pension, Direct Distribution)portal, the Civil Asset Forfeiture Reporting, and now the new e-filing portal; and will also enable local officials who represent multiple entities to have one login associated with multiple local governments. The new interface will be easier to use, and will offer special district users a more streamlined experience when filing required information about directors.

Action Needed

  • Local government users with existing DLG accounts, including DLG’s Grants and Formulaic Programs  portals  and Civil Asset Forfeiture portal, will need to use those credentials now for the new E-Filing portal.
    • This user group will still need to request their respective local government affiliations.
  • Local governments representatives who have never used the DLG Grants/Formulaic Programs portal, or the  Civil Asset Forfeiture portal, will need to create a new account and request association with their local government(s) online.

The current system will be phased out when the new system is launched, and users will no longer be able to use the old system and login credentials.

Looking for Public Filings?

Users do not need an e-filing account or login to access the Local Government Information System (LGIS). LGIS has also been updated with a new look and feel to allow users to better access:

  • Documents required by statute to be filed with the Department of Local Affairs by local governments in Colorado
    • Includes documents, property tax entity data, and more
  • Search local governments by alphabet or county

Access LGIS (No Login Required)
